I had a brief panic yesterday, feeling like I was already behind for Christmas. Then I realized it was only the fourth day of December!
Christmas does seems to start earlier every year because we pack in so many activities and have to start weeks in advance of Christmas day. The last couple of years I’ve tried to be more intentional with what goes on the calendar, cutting out the unnecessary things that just add more stress and don’t bless.
But one thing that will always make our list of Christmas to-do’s is getting a Christmas tree, which we did last weekend!
We went back to the Christmas tree farm we’ve been going to since my oldest was a toddller! It’s such a fun tradition. And this year they had something new–painted trees!
As you can see, we opted for a more traditional tree. After decorating it that afternoon, we made our customary Christmas tree pizza for dinner and watched some Christmasy movies.
For the past several years, we’ve used white lights. Madeline has requested color lights for the last couple of Christmases, so this year she got her wish. You’re only a child once, right! I really like them! The glow at night is so magical.
I love these people!
